Making your booking
Details of the accommodation we offer and our prices can be found on this website.
To make a booking please contact the Observatory by email (bookings@fairislebirdobs.co.uk). We are currently awaiting a new telephone number which will soon be posted on our website. Because of the logistics involved, we recommend you:
- Contact the Observatory and make a provisional booking. Let us know the dates you'd like to visit; you pay nothing at this stage, but we'll hold the room for you whilst you organise your transport
- Arrange your transport onto Fair Isle and then your travel to Shetland
- Get back in touch with us to let us know that your transport is organised and arrange to pay your non-refundable deposit of 10% of your total bill to confirm your booking. We would prefer you to make a bank transfer to reduce our transaction costs, but you can also pay using PayPal. Please advise us of any dietary requirements or allergies. We will then send you information about your visit.
- The balance/full payment is due a minimum of 8 weeks prior to arrival
Bookings for 2026
We are pleased to announce that we are open for bookings for the period 20th May to 31st October 2026. We now only have very limited availability throughout May, June and July but there is still good availability from early August until we close at the end of October. Please contact our Hospitality Manager, Steve Holgate, if you are interested in visiting us. Our website includes information on how to book.
Bookings for 2027
Bookings for 2027 are expected to open for 'Friends of Fair Isle' on 15th August 2026, with general bookings following on 1st September. FoFI members will receive an email notification once the date is confirmed. Updated pricing will be published on this website.
